The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) recently announced recovery of N1 billion in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare. The Commissioner disclosed this during a monthly briefing where he mentioned that the N1 billion debt recovered by LASAA was part of the N3.5 billion debt owed by defaulters.
He added that the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency was able to hit the level of debt recovery through the use of an in-house billing management software, which enhanced bill generation, proper records and reconciliation of all revenue centres of the agency.
According to him, the improvement in recovery was achieved as a result of deference measure like issuance of fines and warning letters to defaulters over a period of time. He stressed that the Agency also received the needed support from the state government to meet her obligations including additional 10 new operational trucks for effective branch operations.
